Fan overide

Post by Webbel on Mon Jul 27, 2015 11:08 pm

What is the best way to overide the fan.
I'm thinking a switch on the dash .fused to a wire leading to the fan....but...would that upset the ecu or anything else and would the fan still come on normally if I dont toggle the switch ?????

All you have to do is ground the relay via a switch so its low current switching then. it has a permanent live already . I cant remember what colour the cable is i did mine. It wont hurt anything.

one by brake booster (make sure you get the right one, the MAF burn off relay is there too)
one at the front passenger side of engine bay on inner wing
as paul said, just add wire to earthing wire (ecu turns fan on by earthing relay, not powering it)
if you join the wire to original wire without cutting it the ecu will still operate the fan if you forget or your switch/wiring fails

Right after cutting into 4 or 5 different wires in 3 separate relays....ive finally found the right one.
The relay is at the front passenger side behind the canister.
Its definitely the green wire...just to splice it to a switch now...thanks for all the help
