Dayvan heater leak
So,the leaking heater rad in my Chevy Dayvan didn't seal up after I put a can of K-Seal stop leak stuff in it so it has to come out.
Manual and guys online say - to remove heater rad first remove entire dash(or undo all fixings and prop it up
I removed it completely.
Then they say - undo hoses and remove three nuts from from under hood and one bolt from inside van.
Heater box can then be removed from inside van and you can get to the heater matrix.
Yeah, right, lol. What about the umpteen other nuts, bolts, clips, trunking etc that are still holding it in !
Will finish removing it later this week
To be continued

Re: Dayvan heater leak
not sure why you would want to go all winter freezing your arse off without a heater then fix it for the summer so you can sweat your ring off
better to fix it now while you need it

Sod driving around all winter with no heater working Paul. Maybe it's warmer in winter in Suffolk than it is down here in Essex though,or maybe you're part Eskimo and don't feel the coldthirdgen wrote:i would just pipe it up together for now loose the heater until summer

Re: Dayvan heater leak
Finally got heater core of of Dayvan, after disconnecting/removing loads more stuff. Inside of Dayvan now looks a right mess, lol.
Took leaking heater core to Radiator place but they wanted about £300 to put new core in it,seems american rads use a different sort of core than others. He did show me the difference but sod paying that much for a rebuilt heater rad !
Just ordered brand new one from Summit Racing -heater rad was only about £23 and with duty and shipping (used their I-Parcel direct to my door all duties paid service) came to about £60 and should be here next week. Added couple of oil filters to order while I was at it which worked out around £4 each and didn't add much to shipping cost.
All I have to do when it gets here is remember how everything goes back together again

Re: Dayvan heater leak
Us Rebels don't need manuals,we just work out how things come apart and remember how they go back together again - sometimes everything works afterwards too, lol.Webbel wrote:You got a manual for it Paul ?
