Re: My 88 Trans Am GTA
Next job was to remove the power steering pipe as old one would be in the way of the Supercharger and replace with new redirected one.
Next job was to remove the two lower left hand bolts that hold the alternator bracket in place and then lower the Supercharger bracket down into place and then put a couple of spaces behind the bracket in line with the two removed bolt holes and then put two new bolts through the bracket and spaces and tighten them up.
First injury lol
Now it was time to get the fuel regulator hooked up

Next job was to fit the last bracket from the back of the alternator to the Supercharger bracket and then fit the Supercharger and bolt in place and then we filled the Supercharger with oil.
Next job was to remove the front jacking points and lower centre air dam and then start getting the intercooler pipes from the Supercharger down to where the intercooler will be placed.
Had to shorten one of the pipes to be able to get the right angle

Next was to start fitting the intercooler, first we undid the bolt holding the hood latch support in place and the we cut away some of the air dam and put the rear intercooler bracket in place and reattached the hood latch support and bolted both in place. We then cut away some of the front bumper so the intercooler can fit in place and we then marked the holes for the side intercooler brackets and drilled them and then we shortened the brackets and re-bent them and bolted in place and then bolted the intercooler to the brackets.

Re: My 88 Trans Am GTA
Next was to join the intercooler pipes from the Supercharger to the intercooler but the joiner was not long enough so I cut up a spare pipe and also cut the joiner pipe in half and then clamped the joiner pipes on to either side of the spare pipe and then put it in place and attached them to the intercooler and the down pipe.
Next job was to fit the Supercharger belt and then bolt the sway bar back into position

Re: My 88 Trans Am GTA
Now it is time to start on the passenger side intercooler piping, which meant more front bumper cutting and also had to remove the lower front wing support bracket. We tried to copy the lay out in the book but could not so cut up another pipe that came with the kit that we were not going to need which had like an S bend on it which we used to get to the next pipe and then attached the down pipe. I then attached the pipes to the throttle body and then to the MAF sensor and then to the down pipe

Re: My 88 Trans Am GTA
Next we had to shorten the top radiator hose and also trim back the rad hose plastic support and then we attached the radiator hose. Then we attached the air filter and angle pipe to the Supercharger and then we fitted the new washer bottle and ran the washer hose behind the rad and attached it to the old wash piping.
Next job was to attach the surge hose to the lower left intercooler pipe and then run it up beside the power steering pump and attach to the joiner in the angled filter pipe and then run the vacuum line from the surge valve to the MAP sensor vacuum port. We then cable tied all pipes away from any moving parts, body work and headers. Then we place the front new LED neon strips just in front of the intercooler and drilled a few holes and cable tied the strips in place and then wired them in.

Re: My 88 Trans Am GTA
Next job was to jack the back of the car up and undo the pipes going into the fuel filter and then attach the new high pressure fuel pump and then get the bracket for the pump and mark out the holes and drill them out then bolt the bracket in place and attach the fuel pump to the bracket. Then place the fuel pump relay just beside the fuel pump and then find the grey wire coming from the in tank fuel pump and join the wire from the relay to it and then join the power line to the high pressure fuel pump and then the earth cables. Then we had to run the power line from the pump to the front of the car and cable tie in place along the fuel lines. We then placed a couple of inline fuses and attached the power cable to the battery and then we were finally ready to start the car and check for any leaks etc.
